The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) has been named as one of Billboard’s Top Music Business Schools for a fourth consecutive time.
Each year Billboard compiles an international list of the best industry related courses for people looking to follow a career in the music business. LIPA was included for its BA (Hons) Management and MA Music Industry Management. It also made the listing in 2020, 2022 and 2023 (no listing in 2021).
LIPA’s new Head of Management, Keith Mullin says: “Billboard is respected worldwide as the go to music business publication for industry professionals, managers, label executives, artists, retailers and DJs.
“For LIPA's BA (Hons) Management (Live Events, Music Industry, Theatre & Screen), and MA Music Industry Management to be recognised as one of the world’s Top Music Business Schools for a fourth time is inspiring. It’s a positive affirmation of the work we do, it means we are getting it right, our graduates are achieving and having meaningful impact within the industry.”
Billboard chooses its top music business schools based on industry recommendations, alumni information, information requested from each school and nearly a decade of reporting on these programs.
Keith, who has over 30 years' experience in the music industry and played Glastonbury in June 2024 as a member of The Farm, became Head of Management at the start of this academic year. He says: “It’s an exciting time for music managers, whilst there are many challenges, current industry trends present multiple entrepreneurial opportunities, and our plans for the course are all about capturing the energy of the music industry today!
“We believe with so many new doors opening it will be the creative manager who will shape the future of music.”
