LIPA Shortlisted for Prestigious Times Higher Education Award

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Award.

We have been recognised in the Specialist Institution of the Year category, one of the headline awards celebrating excellence and innovation across the higher education sector.

The nomination reflects a landmark few years for us. Last year, we secured probationary degree awarding powers by the Office for Students, allowing us to make our curriculum even more responsive to the needs of industry. We have also expanded our campus, with the acquisition of One Hope Place that secured £2.5 million in OfS capital funding to support digital and creative innovation.

“To have again received more than 500 entries is a sure sign that our sectors’ commitment to improving the societies they serve is undimmed,” shared Chris Havergal, editor of the Times Higher Education. “It is a huge achievement to have reached this stage in another very competitive year.”

Established in 2005, the Times Higher Education Awards are among the most prestigious honours in UK higher education. Judged by a panel of sector experts, they recognise the innovative and outstanding work of institutions and individuals who are transforming higher education.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Birmingham on 26 November.
