LIPA is a world leading provider of university-level performing and creative arts training. You’ll be working as part of an international community of creatives, performers, technicians, film makers and business people who learn by working together on fully realised productions and projects. Working under the direction of our Lead Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for the provision, maintenance and operation of equipment in our performance spaces and for assisting students and staff in the delivery of a busy programme of events, productions and learning activities.

As well as a relevant qualification, you must have at least four years’ experience and a good working knowledge of the technical aspects of a producing theatre including the use of a wide range of equipment and systems such as intelligent lighting control and programming, live sound, video and counterweight flying.

You will be required to work closely with students, demonstrating technical equipment and supervising their practical work. The ideal applicant will be well-motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to a career in performance technology. Applications from people who can offer particular expertise in Lighting or Electrics would be particularly welcome.

With a busy schedule of over 24 productions a year across our two venues flexible working will be necessary including evenings and weekends.
