The Role

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Programme Leader for our MA Music Management. The post holder will be responsible for programme development, including planning, designing, delivering and organisation of the programme as well as shaping the curriculum and ensuring it reflects the LIPA values and provides the ultimate student experience.

You will be responsible for teaching on the programme; maintaining resources required for the programme, ensuring that sessions delivered are measurably effective and efficient and for engaging students through Practice Led Research and collaborative learning, reflecting on the latest industry trends and current with the developments in the field to maintain awareness of the competitive environment for sustainable employment. Liaising with external organizations and partners and developing further collaborations is intrinsic to the role and the success of our students. You will also need to be able to manage competing priorities effectively and be passionate and committed to supporting inclusive learning.

The role combines programme leadership responsibilities with additional teaching contributions within the Management Department and across the institute; teaching allocation will be agreed with the Head of Management in line with departmental requirements.

You will be responsible for maintaining the resources required for the programme, ensuring that sessions are delivered effectively and efficiently. You will engage students through Practice-Led Research and collaborative learning, informed by current industry trends and developments. You will also need to manage competing priorities effectively and demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive learning.

About You

The ideal candidate will hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) or a relevant professional qualification. A higher degree, such as a Master’s or Doctorate, is desirable. You will have experience of leadership and interdisciplinary and collaborative working within a performing arts and/or Higher Education environment evidenced through professional practice in one or more of the following areas: popular music, songwriting, performance, music production, PA project management, or the creation of contemporary and commercial artistic outputs. You will have experience in curriculum design and delivery in Higher Education and be student focused, building a supportive and creative environment for students to develop their skills, with a strong commitment to preparing students for sustainable employment.
