This is our 30th anniversary year and is an exciting time to join us, as our new Strategic Plan for 2027–2032 is developed and embedded, we expand our postgraduate portfolio and build on newly awarded probationary degree-awarding powers.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an individual to be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the programme. This includes oversight of curriculum design and delivery, assessment and quality assurance processes, and the effective management of staff and resources.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to ensure the programme remains academically rigorous, vocationally relevant, and aligned with current industry practice.

This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the next generation of multi-skilled performers while driving academic excellence and innovation in vocational training. You will be a skilled educator and practitioner with a strong background in performing arts and higher education. Your responsibilities include:

Programme Leadership & Curriculum Management

· Lead and manage the BA (Hons) Acting (Musicianship) programme

· Ensure curriculum remains industry-relevant and aligned with national standards

· Oversee effective teaching, staffing, and timetabling

· Support Level Leaders and academic staff development

Assessment & Academic Quality

· Manage assessment, marking, and feedback processes

· Ensure accuracy and integrity of assessment data and reporting

· Contribute to assessment boards and academic monitoring

Quality Assurance

· Maintain programme documentation and quality standards

· Liaise with senior academic staff and external examiners

· Lead on programme reviews, evaluation, and continuous improvement

Student Recruitment & Support

· Support marketing and recruitment activities

· Lead auditions, interviews, and student selection

· Oversee student induction, guidance, and retention strategies

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification, with proven expertise in programme leadership or management. A postgraduate or AdvanceHE Fellowship would be advantageous.

You will bring substantial professional experience alongside a proven track record of teaching in higher education or a comparable vocational setting. Experience of programme leadership or academic management is essential, as is the ability to contribute to curriculum development and delivery.

You should have a clear understanding of contemporary industry practices and be able to prepare students for professional careers through high-quality, practice-based teaching. Experience of assessment, interdisciplinary teaching, and higher education quality processes is expected.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, lead teams, and support student development in an inclusive learning environment.
