MA Management student awarded French government funding for music education project

Practice-led research undertaken by MA Music Industry Management student Kalidou Diop has helped them secure significant funding from the French government to develop a music education initiative in Senegal.
An entrepreneur, music producer and audio strategist from Senegal, Kalidou's practical research project at LIPA explores new approaches to professional development for musicians and creative entrepreneurs. As part of his studies, he is developing a one-day music lab boot camp for professional musicians, entrepreneurs and independent artists in the Liverpool City Region.
Building on this research, Kalidou has secured substantial funding through the French Government's Fonds Équipe France (FEF) programme, which supports educational, cultural and research initiatives across the Francophone region. The funding will enable him to establish a 12-week music lab programme in Senegal next year.
