Recent Music (Songwriting and Production) graduate Harry Paynter has signed a global publishing deal with BMG, one of the biggest music publishing companies in the world.
The deal comes after Harry immersed himself in the songwriting world while studying here, honing his craft through collaborations with fellow LIPA student artists including MARiMARi and being selected for a writing session with our founding patron Sir Paul McCartney.
He also used his time here to make crucial industry connections. Harry says: “While in my final year at LIPA I met my wonderful managers, Matthew Rumbold and Clare Richards at Transmission Management. We began working intensely at putting together sessions that made most sense and finding artists I loved working with.”
Once he graduated, Harry moved to London where he describes his life as, “an exciting concoction of exercising my purest creativity, collaboration and proving myself as a writer-producer.”

Projects Harry has worked on include developing Nadia Loren (VLF Records) alongside producer Mura Masa, as well as Polydor’s new girl group, XO, co-writing and producing songs for their first few projects alongside well-established songwriters including L Devine, Maegan Cottone and Gil Lewis.
Reflecting on his time at LIPA, Harry believes that having industry-ready practices embedded into the Music course, including a culture of regular sessions, co-writing and A&R connections, prepared him for professional life. “LIPA really served itself as a training ground for the life of a songwriter-producer.”
The latest release Harry has worked on is Laundrette by Nadia Loren, which you can listen to here:
