With the expansion of our sector leading professional training programme portfolio within the School of Performance this is an exciting time to join us. Led by our new Principal/CEO, we have developed a new strategic plan and are undertaking a major review of our curriculum and developing our submission to achieve university status in our own right through the acquisition of degree awarding powers. Our diverse disciplines have been restructured into three newly created schools, Creative Technologies, Design & Enterprise, Music, and Performance.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and exceptional individual for the role of Head of Department for Musical Theatre / Senior Lecturer to lead our new BA (Hons) Acting (Musical Theatre) and CertHE Foundation Acting (Musical Theatre) programmes. The Head of Department/Senior Lecturer will be responsible for the vision and academic leadership for all provision within the subject area. In collaboration with colleagues, the postholder will provide leadership in pedagogic innovation, student experience, oversight of the curriculum and contribute to the successful attainment of taught degree awarding powers.
You will play a key role in further developing a professionally active team of colleagues and a focused departmental portfolio which sits at the centre of our significant production output. Alongside your leadership, management, and teaching role at programme level, you will also contribute to operational management and production delivery at an institutional level.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification and be a subject specialist who combines significant expertise in a relevant discipline with a track record of collaborative leadership and delivering conservatoire level professional training with strong links with the creative industries.
