Preparation is key when it comes to auditions so let us help you take those first steps with our free workshop.

More and more, self-tapes have become the go-to for first round auditions, including at LIPA. It is clear that mastering the art of a self-tape is now more important than ever, but how do you make your audition tape stand out? In this fun, practical workshop we will look at how to perfect your self-taping skills and give you the tools to face any self-tape audition with confidence.

Is this for you?

Are you in Year 12 or above? Are you considering applying for acting training at Drama School or university?

As this is a regional workshop it is aimed at people who live in and around Birmingham and the Midlands.

We value diversity and would particularly welcome students from ethnically diverse backgrounds, care leavers, students who receive free school meals and students who have no family background of studying at university on this free workshop.

Workshop times – 12:00pm-1:45pm and 2:15pm-4:00pm

Each session includes:

• A practical, technical workshop, covering areas including framing, lighting, eyelines, and slates.
• Advice about monologue choices for self-tapes from LIPA staff and students.
• Guidance on follow up work to help increase your confidence.
• Information about relevant courses on offer at LIPA and next steps.

Both sessions are the same so participants should only book one workshop slot.

We can provide bursaries to assist with travel costs to attend this workshop to anyone who receives free school meals.
