Find out how your business, economics and marketing studies can lead to a career in the music industry, events management and theatre and screen production at one of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts’ (LIPA) open days.
LIPA’s Management for the Creative and Performing Arts degree teaches transferable theoretical and practical business skills. Dave Wibberley is LIPA’s Head of Management. He says it can enable a career in one of the UK’s most engaging and exciting sectors. “Every management job that exists in every industry also exists within the creative industries and performing arts. Our job is to give you that knowledge and open you up to the possibilities.
“You can use your management skills to work for a local authority or a bank for example, but you could also use them to work in a dynamic and creative sector that you have a passion for such as the creative industries and performing arts.”
For example, our recent graduates (2020 to 2023) are working in theatre production, digital music marketing, TV research, TV production, music management, at music festivals, and in music publishing and ticket marketing companies.
At one of our Open Days in October and November you can find out how our BA (Hons) Management for the Creative Industries and Performing Arts starts with a grounding in marketing, managing finance and understanding contract law; while you also learn about the many careers that exist across the creative industries. In the second and third year of the degree you can then specialise in management for live events, music industry management or theatre and screen.
You’ll also discover how you’ll become part of a creative community with opportunities to collaborate with student actors, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, designers and technicians on fully realised productions and projects as part of your learning.
You can find out more about our BA (Hons) Management for the Creative Industries and Performing Arts here and sign up for one of Open Days for 2024/2025 entry here.
