The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is a leading centre of excellence for creative learning and vocational training within the performing arts and creative industries. This is an exciting time to join our team as we will be introducing a new HR and Payroll system in April 2026 and anticipate testing starting in November/December 2025. The post holder will play a key part in ensuring the smooth transition to and implementation of the new system.
The post holder will work closely with our HR Manager and Pensions Officer within the HR team. You will be responsible for:
- Accurately process payroll, including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, and casual staff pay claims.
- Ensure correct deductions for Tax, NI, Student Loans, and other statutory or internal schemes.
- Run monthly and annual payroll reports (RTI submissions, BACS, costing reports, gross-to-net checks).
- Issue payslips, P45s, and P60s, and process HMRC notifications.
- Calculate monthly Apprenticeship Levy payments.
- Maintain accurate payroll records in line with GDPR and data protection policies.
- Provide advice and support to staff, responding to queries promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to developing payroll processes and support wider HR and finance projects.
This is an interesting, busy role as we process payroll and pensions inhouse which would suit someone who enjoys the challenge and satisfaction of end-to-end payroll processing.
