Preparation is key when it comes to auditions so let us help you take those first steps with our free workshop.
Is this for you?
Are you in Year 12 or above? Are you considering applying for acting or musical theatre training at Drama School or university for September 2024 entry?
As this is a regional workshop it is aimed at people who live within a 40-mile radius of Nottingham.
We value diversity and would particularly welcome students from ethnically diverse backgrounds, care leavers, students who receive free school meals and students who have no family background of studying at university on this free workshop.
Our expert tutors will provide you with a half-day session packed with practical exercises, tips and guidance to boost your confidence and inspire you ahead of your Drama School auditions.
Our morning session focuses on preparation for Acting auditions and the afternoon session focuses on preparation for Musical Theatre auditions.
Each session includes:
Pre-audition Acting workshop - 9:30 - 13:00
- A practical, technical workshop, including warm-up routines to practice in preparation for your future auditions.
- Advice about monologue choices, including a practical session working with a monologue of your choice. You are welcome to bring a pre-prepared monologue. If you don’t yet have one we can provide examples for you to work with.
- Guidance on follow up work to help increase your confidence.
- Information about relevant courses on offer at LIPA and next steps.
Pre-audition Musical Theatre workshop - 14:00 - 17:30
- A practical, technical workshop, including warm-up routines to practice in preparation for your future auditions.
- Advice about song choices, including a practical session working with a song of your choice. You are welcome to bring a pre-prepared song with backing track. If you don’t yet have one we can provide examples for you to work with.
- Guidance on follow up work to help increase your confidence.
- Information about relevant courses on offer at LIPA and next steps.
We can provide bursaries to assist with travel costs to attend this workshop to anyone who receives free school meals.
