Update: Coronavirus (COVID-19) 20/03/2020
From Wednesday 18th March we stopped all scheduled teaching (which includes teaching, assessment and productions). This has given us time to move to on-line teaching and assessments, where possible. Some of our programmes have already started delivering on-line teaching and the rest are scheduled to start from Monday 23rd March.

Our remaining auditions, interviews and recalls for our undergraduate programmes for 2020 entry are being carried out by remote submission and/or via Skype. All interviewees and auditionees are being contacted and informed of the process directly.

All public performances have been postponed. We are sorry for the disappointment and disruption this may cause and thank you for your continued support during this period of great uncertainty. We will be contacting ticket holders to arrange refunds, but we ask for your patience at what is a very busy time.

All recruitment and outreach activity with schools, colleges and community organisations, both on campus and within schools, has been suspended until further notice. We will be looking closely into alternative approaches to offering these engagements. We are still taking applications to our post-16 summer projects, Get Set and Get Ready, and our Year 10/11 Widening Participation programme for activities due in July and August. These projects will be subject to ongoing review and dates may change accordingly.

We have cancelled all LIPA 4-19 sessions until September 2020. As a result of this, we will sadly no longer be able to continue with our end of year shows. We're still hopeful to run our summer school throughout July/August and we will keep you updated regarding this as well as any information about the LIPA 4-19 weekend academies on the LIPA 4-19 website.

We have made arrangements to enable as many staff as possible to work from home, with many making this switch from Thursday 19th March.

We are, however, remaining open for Higher Education students Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm, in keeping with government guidance. We are planning to close between Good Friday and Easter Monday inclusive. If we need to change our opening hours if, for example, the government introduces further social isolation measures, we will update students via an all student e-mail.

The LRC will be open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Students who are finding it difficult to access online learning at home, will be able to access PCs in 5.01 and the LRC. Students can also access rehearsal rooms, sound studios and model making rooms. Use of facilities must be undertaken following national guidance on social distancing, please continue to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly. If in doubt, please self-isolate.
The Student Support Team is also available to provide advice and support. They are providing this by phone and on-line between 10am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, during term-time.

Our canteen and bar are closed until further notice.

We have established a team to closely monitor and manage the situation and we will continue to act on the advice of Public Health England and the NHS.

We will update our advice as new government and Public Health England guidance emerges.

We are grateful to our staff and students for all their cooperation, help and support at this challenging time.
