We are looking to recruit a Productions Assistant to provide our Theatre Performance Technology and Design staff with technical assistance in the preparation of teaching sessions and ensuring that the workshops and other associated communal spaces are maintained to a professional standard. The role also includes departmental administration and management of the in-house props store as well as assisting the Head of Productions and the Wider Productions team as necessary.

Job Duties

  1. Supporting and working on teaching modules with staff and students.
  2. Working on administration tasks in a Productions department and helping support the seasons of events and projects.
  3. Assisting with the budget preparations and ordering of supplies and materials.
  4. Liaising with teaching and professional services staff on projects.
  5. Looking after the props and furniture stores.


Excellent woodworking and metalworking skills are essential as well as good communication skills and teamworking. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in joinery or a related discipline and at least 2-3 years’ experience as well as experience working in theatre or education. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of current Health and Safety rules and regulations as they apply in the workshop.
